The objective of this role is to identify, develop, and strengthen relationships with preferred partners, engage in community relations activities, and effectively promote California Coast Credit Union to the San Diego community. The successful candidate will proactively attend health fairs to promote Cal Coast’s products and services, drive increased penetration at preferred partner locations, and maintain regular contact with preferred partner points of contact. Additionally, this role has a primary focus on acquiring new members and achieving goals related to consumer loans, real estate loans, and deposit products.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting directly to the Manager Business Development, this position does not entail direct reports.

NATURE & SCOPE:

Responsibilities:

- Acquire new preferred partners with a minimum of 50 or more employees to expand the credit union's presence in the San Diego market.

- Utilize exceptional sales ability to promote the benefits of joining the credit union and effectively market our products and services.

- Be evaluated based on performance in acquiring preferred partners, driving membership growth, generating new consumer and real estate loans, and increasing deposit growth.

- Attend and actively participate in job fairs, benefits fairs, and other regularly scheduled on-site events to engage with potential members and promote the credit union.

- Support community relations by conducting webinars and workshops, fostering relationships with local organizations, and actively participating in community events.

- Collaborate closely with the branches to drive business growth and support their operations as part of our business model.

- Possess extensive knowledge of credit reports, including reading and analyzing them to cross-sell appropriate products and services.

- Demonstrate expertise in real estate origination processes and effectively guide customers through the home loan application and approval procedures.

Other Education, Skills, and Abilities

Four-year degree in business, marketing or related field preferred.

Requires strong knowledge of sales and experience with financial products.

Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a financial institution plus proven successful performance in sales and service. Minimum 4 years experience processing Real Estate loans including credit report review and loan structuring. Accountable for individually prospecting and securing Preferred Partners.

Possesses strong public speaking skills to conduct group presentations and present a confident and professional image.

Has excellent verbal and written communications skills, the ability to interact with all levels of management and staff and is able to work independently. A professional image is necessary to successfully model positive quality sales/service behaviors.

Experience with the processing of loan applications and related credit reports is required.

Must maintain registration as Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act) and regularly provide this unique MLO registration number to all consumers as part of daily work in mortgage lending.

Requires an understanding of sales goals and production metrics and familiarity with all credit union products.

Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, DocuSign, Symitar, Desktop Publishing and Data Entry.

Must be team-oriented, independent, innovative, and organized. Capable of managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and setting individual day-to-day priorities. Demonstrates the credit union’s core values including personalized, caring service to internal and external members.

Has working knowledge of credit union operations, products, and services.

Ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

Ability to operate standard business machines such as computer, printer, fax, copier, and telephonic devices.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

Serves over 100 organizations, businesses, schools, colleges and preferred partners in San Diego and Riverside County, cultivating and maintaining trusted, mutually beneficial partnerships.

Achieves monthly goals as assigned.

Knowledge of Consumer and Real Estate loans including credit report review and loan structuring.

Represents and influences community perception of a $3.7 billion brand with nearly 200,000 members.

Collaborates and coordinates with the Community Relations and Financial Fitness Departments to provide staff resources for the credit union’s financial wellness workshops, webinars, and community events.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Excellent ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing; ability to tolerate periods of continuous standing during various times. Have the ability to operate and utilize a personal computer, phone and peripherals. Lifting of various brochure stands and tables. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must have own transportation that is reliable as 80% of time is spent traveling to Preferred Partner Group locations and other events in San Diego and Riverside Counties. Events may occur outside. Must have the ability to assist in canopy set up for events.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Work may be primarily performed outside the office with extensive local business travel required. Will frequently be required to attend events in evenings or on weekends. Subject to standard background noise found in an office environment and during travel time, subject to variable weather and traffic conditions. from the handbook. May be required to drive company vehicle on company business. Required to show proof of current, valid driver’s license, and current Department of Motor Vehicle record.

Note: Staff is expected to perform various tasks, projects, and administrative duties as assigned.

Salary Range (Annually)

$70,351.8400-$87,939.8000
