About the Role
The Senior General Ledger Accountant is responsible for contributing to the timely and accurate completion of accounting functions, including but not limited to monthly close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting requirements. The position will report to NAMER Controller and work closely with FP&A and Operations. The individual will be working local hours however may be required to join some early meetings on occasion to ensure some coverage with the NAMER region.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of IFRS compliant financial statements and supporting schedules to monthly and year end close schedule while finding way to improve close process
Monitor cash balances and cash management activities
Generate and review journal entries and ensure they comply with our accounting policies
Perform complex account reconciliations and analyze discrepancies to ensure accuracy
Work with the group finance team to ensure reporting requirements are completed timely and accurately
Analyze monthly variances to budgets and forecasts
Manage sales/B&O tax requirements, filings and payments
Coordinate with the CPA firms on federal and state income tax filings
Maintain strong relationship with internal and external parties to identify and improve business processes across the organization
Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
Assist with annual financial audits and/or reviews
Assist in Netsuite ERP implementation from QuickBooks
Assist in ad-hoc projects as assigned
The essentials:
Bachelors in Finance/Accounting or related fields
5+ years accounting experience
Advanced Excel abilities
Knowledge of financial accounting and compliance reporting
Ability to work under pressure and extended hours when is necessary in order to meet the deadlines
Ability to partner with a range of stakeholders from finance and non-finance backgrounds to drive performance
Excellent time management, prioritization and deadline adherence
Effective collaborator with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Experience working across different markets and regions is highly preferred
