National Sales Manager – Commercial Truck and Fleet Accounts

When you consider commercial vehicles, with their larger size and with time-sensitive cargo, these same products by Velvac now become “system-critical” for safe operation. And with Velvac technologies, such as Road iQ brand video telematics, commercial vehicle operation has become easier and safer than ever.

We have specifically targeted the Commercial Truck and Fleet marketplace who are eager for reliable standard offerings as well as breakthrough new products.

Join us as a National Sales Manager with full account management responsibility for key accounts. Provide high touch customer intimacy to some of our largest and most important medium and Commercial Truck OEM and OES accounts. Bring world class excellence to world class customers like Peterbilt, Kenworth, Daimler, Navistar, Volvo GM and Ford to name a few.

Driving Sales Performance:

Your knowledge of selling into the multilevel Truck and Fleet market will tighten up our approach to large scale, key account management. This in turn will heighten customer communication, responsiveness, networking and satisfaction. This type of relationship building helps open new doors and discover new opportunities.

Leverage your toolbox built over a steady sales career; solution selling, value proposition, pull through selling, relationship selling, team selling, technical sales, long term supply agreements, project management, market segmentation, key account management, major account management, direct OEM selling, and commercial contracts to name a few.

Additionally capitalize on your ability to establish strong relationships at multiple touch points including engineering, purchasing and the executive C-suite. Provide planning, organizing and leadership of all OEM and OES program activity to ensure world class engagement.

And equally important, contribute to growing business at existing key accounts using your proven history and sixth sense for sales opportunities at existing and new key accounts.

Put your talent to the test with sales planning and forecasting, budgeting, margin improvement, production and inventory planning, RFQ and proposal preparation, product roadmaping, product specification, new product introduction, product launch, and product promotion.

Reporting to the Director of Sales:

You will be a key player in our business:

Shepherd existing and new relationships to higher levels of account management that meet and beat customer expectations.

Establishment of KPIs for our key accounts that help the organization gauge the health of our key accounts.

Ensure regular customer contact to ensure the flow of information on new opportunities, competitors’ activities and potential issues.

Participate in product definition, road mapping and business case studies for new products and provide input on future products or technologies required.

Help us stay maintain awareness of developments, trends, events & product launches that pertain to the commercial truck industry

Manage customer-specific product development programs from inception to completion, insuring adherence to schedule and all deliverables.

Analyze costs and develop pricing that meets contribution margin goals based on specific targets for existing business and new business development.

Attend and lead the planning for all trade shows that are necessary to maintain short and long-term goals for the Truck / Fleet business.

Determine sales forecasts and budgets, monitor sales results and expenses, adjusting company actions to be taken to meet both sales and financial expectations

Travel an estimated 50%.

What We Are Looking For:

Of course your leadership is essential, as a passion and energy that engages all around you:

A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or engineering. A Master’s degree in business or engineering is a plus.

10 to 15 years of experience in technical sales and account management.

A strong familiarity with the Commercial Truck and Fleet marketplace, including proven industry network, contacts and sales results will be key. (Similar products could include wheels, brakes, hubs, suspensions, seats, electronic components, mirrors, cab parts, chassis parts, cables, wiring, harnesses, HVAC, lighting, suspension, powertrain, engines, transmissions)

Industry credibility – Be able to convey and project “believability” and credibility in the Commercial Truck industry, especially with peers, end-users, and customers.

Demonstrated success in management of business development programs from conceptualization through to market deployment.

The Road-iQ system, developed in partnership with Velvac, networks various data sources in the vehicle, including multiple on-board video cameras, and then communicates that information in real time to a tablet computer, providing recording and playback for training, security, and liability protection, as well as wireless communication to telematics service providers and fleet managers.
