Job Description

As a Quality Assurance Lab Technician, you'll work closely with our Quality Assurance Assistant Manager to perform essential laboratory functions, including product testing and quality assurance measures. Under the guidance of our Assistant Manager, you'll uphold FDA, FSMA, and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) requirements to ensure the safe production of food within our plant and offices.

Essential Functions:

Maintain and update raw material supplier information to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Conduct testing for titrateable acidity, moisture, pH, and Babcock fat testing on wet blended products multiple times daily, utilizing aseptic techniques.

Enter data and test results into the computer system, communicating results to processing personnel and providing packing approval to wet blending operators based on test results.

Visually inspect finished samples, logging, retaining, and shelving portions for future reference.

Perform weekly audits of the warehouse and plant, documenting any product safety or GMP violations and advising the Quality Assurance Manager accordingly.

Generate specialty Certificates of Analysis (COAs) to meet customer requests and EU Certification requirements for overseas shipments.

Receive raw materials, including entering and releasing products in the system after verifying requirements such as kosher status, EU status, COA status, etc. Collect and sample raw materials, arranging for additional sampling at outside laboratories when necessary.

Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in entering COA information on finished products and releasing finished products in the system. Cover the responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Manager in their absence.

Skills & Abilities:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: One year of general lab experience preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
