Specialized Fabrication Equipment Group “SFEG” is a pipe manufacturing and wholesale company looking to hire a customer focused Repairs & Tool Grinding Technician to join our growing team in Deer Park. The ideal candidate must be an organized, accurate and dependable person who can follow directions. The ideal candidate must also be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

You will...

Work Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. Some overtime.

Unload, inspect, inventory, clean and service rental equipment.

Operate Tool grinding and EDM machine basic functions to drawing and quality standards.

Work in all aspects of the building operations for the rentals, repairs, and parts service areas.

Provide administrative support to rental refurbishment functions.

Work with the regional operations team and lead discussion on identifying equipment or parts shortages, plan ahead for rental cycles, identify areas for improvement.

Use superior customer-oriented etiquette and technical expertise to promote intimate customer relationships and expand rental opportunities whenever possible.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a strong customer service orientation. Approaches others in a tactful manner; reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; follows through on commitments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Read and follow daily work schedule and prioritize work.

Setup tool grinder and perform functions to job specifications.

Plan and perform EDM basic setup and operations as required.

Operate and regulate maintenance activities on equipment as directed.

High sense of urgency and follow through, very responsive to the customer.

Timely and accurate paperwork completion for service, receipt and ship out documentation.

Inspection, cleaning and servicing/repair of rental equipment.

Function testing machines and verification of toolkit inventory

Maintain, repair and paint equipment containers as needed

Learn, understand and follow rental SOP guidelines

Follows up on pertinent customer needs in a timely fashion.

Maintain current knowledge of company products specifications and applications

Coordinate shipments as required.

Receives rental machines from customer rental orders.

Assists with improvement projects for rentals, repair.

Assists in training team members in Rental operations of the business.

Support team members by assisting with overflow telephone calls.

Handles stress in a professional manner, demonstrates the ability to get along with others, demonstrates successful attendance and punctuality, and works overtime / extra hours as required to meet business needs.

Trains and mentor’s others of less skill and/or experience.

Participates in on call rotation.

May occasionally travel.

Other duties as required.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong customer service and technical skills

Excellent multitasking ability

Basic manual machining experience

Tool grinding or EDM operation experience a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is based in a traditional shop setting where noise levels are moderate. The employee is required to work with other employees based in our machine shop where noise levels are high, extreme temperatures swings are usual and personal protective equipment such as safety glasses are required to be worn.
