Job Description

AbbVie's Biologics Discovery Sciences group is seeking a highly motivated research scientist to join their dynamic core team in supporting biologics drug discovery. The ideal candidate must have diverse experience in purifying antibody or engineered protein therapeutics and be proficient in all standard bioprocess and chromatography techniques. As a creative problem solver, the individual should have a demonstrated strong ability to effectively drive purification process development activities and overcome issues with challenging therapeutic proteins. The successful candidate should be familiar in biophysical and analytical characterization techniques.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

BS or MS in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biochemical Engineering or related field with typically 5-7+ (BS) or 2-5+ (MS) years of experience in antibody or engineered protein therapeutic purification.

Proficient in all standard purification bioprocess and chromatography techniques.

Demonstrated strong ability to drive purification process development activities.

Familiar with biophysical and analytical characterization techniques.

Creative problem solver.

Excellent communication skills and proficient in presenting in front of groups.

Ability to work independently while contributing in a team environment.

Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

Stay current with applicable internal/external scientific literature and apply new information in innovative ways to successfully complete work assignments.

Ability to analyze, document, and report data concisely and rigorously.

Position will be hired based on level of experience.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
