The Plant Manager will provide oversight, supervision, administrative, and technical management over multiple Asphalt Paving projects.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Coordinate & supervise onsite management for multiple projects in the Houston Area.

Supervise total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule and has the necessary resources to complete the work.

Interface with onsite management, business unit management, client representatives, and other contractors, etc.

Assist on-site management with planning, coordinating, and supervising on-site functions (crew management for division, equipment management for division, schedule, productivity, budget).

Manage crew availability and a number of crews.

May authorize and/or approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc. with upper management approval.

Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods, equipment, etc., as required.

Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.

Ensure all on-site personnel complies with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc.

Document all violations; notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required.

Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.

Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Basic Qualifications

5-10 years experience in construction management in the asphalt and aggregates industry.

Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, cost control schedules, and safety required.

Excellent communication, organization, and supervisory skills essential.

Excellent computer skills including Office Products. Knowledge of HCSS Heavy Job and Primavera P6 not required but a plus.
