The Village of Mundelein is seeking qualified individuals for a full-time Public Works Maintenance Technician II in the Streets Division.

Under the direction of the Crew Leader or other divisional authority, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating a variety of equipment and trucks utilized in construction, maintenance, and repair activities. The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance of streets, storm drainage systems, pavement and sidewalk repair, landscape restoration, street sign installation, snow plowing and ice control operations, and other divisional functions. Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Must possess a valid Illinois Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with air brake and tanker endorsements or have the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

Work experience or training in a job-related field is preferred

Ability to work for extended hours in all weather conditions and to provide physical exertion as found necessary in assisting or completing department activities

Work overtime as directed or needed

Compliance with all safety procedures and policies of the Village

Starting salary range for this position is $56,608- $58,872 (DOQ). The selected candidate will have the opportunity to advance a step within the salary range on an annual basis. The Village offers a generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, flexible spending account, enrollment into the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) pension system.
