Description:

Plans, coordinates and performs manufacturing engineering work for a project or process of limited scope.

May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work to support personnel, including contractors.

Work plans and decisions are typically made within the established guidelines and reviewed by others.

Duties:

Provides support and basic trouble shooting for current operations.

Investigates, gathers and analyzes data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks.

Establishes routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of limited scope.

Identifies and implements cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope.

Works with electronic tools to perform engineering functions.

Develops and implements plans of limited scope to support lean manufacturing through the Deere Production System.

Designs operations layouts to improve material flow and material presentation.

Participates in team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity and efficiency.

Implements new manufacturing processes and technology.

Modifies existing performance pay plans; assists in development of baseline data for new wage performance pay plans.

Responsibilities :

Perform project work supporting the Maintenance Engineering team.

Convert PDF part prints to AutoCAD prints as needed.

Provide line design support for equipment acquisition and relocations with the Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering groups

Develop layout options

Provide construction drawings for equipment locations and utility needs for bidding and installation purposes.

Develop concept layouts to support new programs and business initiatives.

Perform field checks of the items on the shop floor updating the layouts using AutoCAD and FactoryCAD accordingly to the John Deere Waterloo Works standards and best practices.

These field checks will include but not be limited to the following:

Bridge / Jib / Hoist locations with capacities

Fire Extinguishers

Hot Work areas

Material storage racks with labeled capacities and laydown areas

Aisles - Material travel and pedestrian

Pedestrian and overhead doors

Overhead belt conveyor elevations

Dust collection and HVAC ductwork

Utilities

ZES (Lock out/Tag out) locations (power disconnects) for equipment identified on placards.

Manage the Foundry’s library of facility drawings and develop AutoCAD drawings per John Deere standards and practices.

Perform periodic layout audits verifying physical locations to AutoCAD object locations.

Skills/Experience :

•2D Layout Experience with AutoCAD Architectural

•3D Modeling experience with PTC/Pro-E

•Primarily looking for Architectural/Mechanical background and/or experience

•Understanding structural design would be preferable

•Having additional Electrical background/experience and the ability to modify and create electrical drawings would be preferable

•Project Management skills: need to be able to balance multiple projects with different timelines and prioritiesCompany Description
