MatrixHR is currently recruiting Apprentice and Journeyperson Welders for an exciting client of ours located in Halifax, NS. Reporting to the Installation Manager, the welders will work in collaboration with the Halifax installation team:

All successful applicants must meet the requirements for Canadian Government Security clearance.

*Must be local to Halifax, NS or immediate surrounding area**

Installing HVAC Ducting and Equipment:

Assess job site and set up equipment prior to commencing work;

Follow safety protocol and comply with safety and occupational standards;

Read and interpret installation diagrams;

Carry out HVAC installation, which includes ducting, fasteners on hangers and ducts, and insulation;

Anchor and hook-up HVAC machinery such as air handling units, fans, chillers, ventilation equipment, etc;

Assist in verifying that HVAC installation is functioning.

Working Conditions:

Fast-paced environment. Noisy

Physically demanding. Frequent bending, crouching and kneeling

Attention to detail; good eye-hand coordination

Confined or restricted areas

Fall Protection

WHMIS

Qualifications:

Experience in welding.

Completed pre-apprenticeship course or equivalent experience.

Good work quality and ability to work steadily to meet project timelines.

Good physical dexterity to work in tight or awkward locations.
