We are seeking a senior commissioning and start-up professional to join us as a Commissioning & Start Up Process Safety Lead. The Venture Global Commissioning team is responsible to ensure the safe and efficient pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and operation of the facility to achieve the plant’s production and performance objectives.

This position will be located initially in Houston, TX and transitions to Plaquemines site, LA.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

The VG CSU Process Safety Lead is responsible for monitoring, internal auditing, reporting and confirmation of closeout of associated action items; on those activities that directly contribute to the overall operational risk. These activities include:

CSO/CSC register

Red Spade – procedure and register

Procedures – initial start-up and SOP and red line revisions

Process Upset Reporting

Incident investigation or root cause analysis (RCA)

Permit to Work

SIMOPs

Inhibits / Bypasses & Register

Pre-startup Safety Reviews

Alarm Mgmt. System

Management of Change (MOC)

Participate in Pre-Start-Up / Readiness Reviews for major equipment commissioning activities and support Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews (PSSR).

Participate in Go-no-Go reviews.

Primary interfaces include contractor CSU team, engineering and operations departments.

Lead and require strict adherence to Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures (LOTO), work permits, and company policies

Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis.

Basic Qualifications:

Thorough understanding of process safety fundamentals, and underpinning systems.

Experience in leading incident investigations and processes (i.e. 5 why, Taproot).

Working knowledge of safety and integrity critical equipment and systems, including associated functional testing.

Experience with structured management of change system.

Experience in working with simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) in a major capital project.

Minimum 15 years plant commissioning and start-up experience on major EPC LNG export projects.

Demonstrated Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness.

Demonstrated written and oral communication skills across multiple employee levels and outside stakeholders.

Held responsibility as permit approver in a permit to work system - including LO/TO, inhibit and override, hot work, confined space entry.
