Preschool Director Job Description

Position Title: Preschool Director

Job Summary:

The Preschool Director is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the preschool facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young learners. This role requires a strong background in early childhood education, leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a growth mindset within the staff.

Pay ranges from $40,500 to $50,000 based on experience and degree(s).

Key Responsibilities:

Teacher Training and Modeling:

Develop and implement training programs for preschool teachers to enhance their teaching skills, classroom management techniques, and understanding of child development principles.

Serve as a role model for effective teaching practices, demonstrating best practices in early childhood education.

Teacher Supervision:

Provide ongoing support, guidance, and feedback to teachers through regular observations, evaluations, and coaching sessions.

Collaborate with teachers to set professional development goals and create individualized plans for growth.

Manage a team of 15 following organizational policies and procedures

Facilities Supervision:

Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the preschool facility, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Coordinate with Head of School or designee on scheduling routine or needed maintenance.

Growth Mindset Cultivation:

Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement among staff members, encouraging them to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and persist in the face of obstacles.

Promote a growth mindset among students, supporting their efforts to develop resilience, perseverance, and a positive attitude toward learning.

Collaborative Thinker:

Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and community stakeholders to develop and implement educational programs that meet the diverse needs of students.

Participate in team meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities to exchange ideas, share resources, and solve problems collectively.

Solutions Finder:

Proactively identify challenges or areas for improvement within the preschool program and develop innovative solutions to address them.

Act as a resource for teachers and staff members, offering support and guidance in problem-solving and decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred; Florida Director's Credential REQUIRED.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Strong knowledge of child development principles, early learning standards, and curriculum development.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and work as part of a team.
