A Day In The Life of an Aircraft Composite Technician

The position you are applying for is responsible for manufacturing composite parts.

Essential Duties of The Aircraft Composite Technician

Perform production of composite products.

Responsible for manufacturing quality, including workmanship, functionality, product readiness, and complete and proper packing to meet delivery schedule and customer needs

Understand completely and adhere to AS9100 policies and procedures

Proactively identify problems in the manufacturing of products and the use of machinery and equipment and provide recommended solutions

Organize and plan project tasks and workflow, document procedures, and enter time electronically for each project

Responsible for properly tracking usage and disposition of materials used in production and for care and proper usage of company tools and equipment

Adhere to the highest practicable safety and housekeeping standards and perform both daily and weekly housekeeping duties

Assist co-workers with on-the-job training

Minimum Requirements

U.S. Citizenship required

Negative drug screen and favorable background check (Note: we are a smoke-free facility)

Associates Degree and one to two (1-2) years experience in a related field

Prior composite and/or polymers and/or resin experience, desired

Knowledge and experience with heavy product transportation (e.g. cranes forklifts), required

Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings, schematics, and diagrams, required

Mechanical assembly and disassembly of large products, desired

Experience with electronic time logging (i.e. into a Corporate Computer System) and Microsoft Word and Excel

The employee should have a basic awareness of hazardous materials and cautions and be able to read MSDS reports and follow appropriate cautions required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
