What You'll Do

Ohio Department of Public Safety – Bureau of Motor Vehicles – Morse Road Driver Exam Station

Report in location: 990 Morse Road, Suite B, Columbus, Ohio 43229

Work Days and hours would vary between: Tuesday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am - 2:30 pm based on student schedule. This position does work on Saturdays.

This is an ongoing internship located in Columbus, OH. The selected candidate will ideally be able to work throughout the school year and summer, for an average of 20 hours per week or less (with flexibility during the school semesters given class schedule and course load).

The pay rate for a college intern is based upon the students' academic status:

Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93 per hour

Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59 per hour

Major/field of study should be in: Business (i.e., Communications, Business, Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, etc.) or Criminal Justice

Job duties:

· Checking customers in for knowledge testing.

· Perform vision testing.

· Review presented documents to verify customer’s identity and the type of licensing the customer may have/qualify for.

· Managing Driver Exam forms and files for checking customers in.

· Respond to basic inquiries from the public on the examination process.

Qualifications:

Employment Requirements (all must be verified upon hire)

To be eligible for an internship opportunity at the Ohio Department of Public Safety, an applicant must:

Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.

Be in good standing with the college/university.

Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.

Be enrolled in at least one course.

Be pursuing a degree or finishing a degree.
