Mission Prep is looking for an Adolescent Nurse to provide superior care for our clients at our Adolescent Residential Mental Health facility in Loudoun County, VA. Mission Prep is AMFM Healthcare's new residential program tailored for the healthcare of the adolescent population suffering from mental health and/or substance use disorder diagnoses (12-17 years of age).

We are looking for an experienced Nurse to work alongside our medical professionals who have an equal amount of compassion and expertise in serving a diverse patient population. Our ideal candidate will not only be skilled in assessing patients and providing care, but will also use critical thinking and good judgment to care for our patients’ biological, physical, and behavioral needs. This is a full time position with the expectation to work in-person at our residential healthcare facility.

Responsibilities:

Observe patients, charting and reporting changes in patients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action.

Essential nursing duties for clients, including but not limited to:

Managing prescribed medications, noting times and amounts on patients' charts.

Provide basic patient care or treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures.

Sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides, sterilizer, or autoclave.

Measure and record patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.

Work as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care, and implement interventions.

Maintain the integrity of the medical/clinical record in the company EHR system, including the following:

Making sure all medical documents are scanned in a timely manner

Medication Incident Reports are addressed promptly and correctly

Charts are audited for medical record completion and accuracy

Make appointments, keep records, and/or perform other clerical duties.

Inventory and requisition supplies, instruments and medications and medication samples.

Maintain confidentiality of patient records and reports

Document client histories, progress and other pertinent information.

Comprehend and implement policies and procedures related to Joint Commission areas of Medication Management and Infection Prevention and Control. Overseeing the implementation by all staff of best practices in regards to National Patient Safety Goals.

Qualifications:

Current and active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the state of Virginia.

Able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check..

Must have relevant experience working in a Psychiatric/Addiction setting. Adolescent/Pediatric experience preferred.

Proficient multi-tasking capabilities with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude

Knowledge of clinical and medical terminology as it relates to the delivery of clinical care to the clients within our programs.

Innate knowledge of the clinical, medical, and miscellaneous services provided to the clients.

Thorough knowledge of computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google suite products.
