Job Summary
A Cafe Barista is in charge of setting and clearing tables at a dining establishment to provide restaurant patrons with a clean and tidy environment. Their duties include removing used dishes, re-setting silverware and filling beverages for diners.

Responsibilities
Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders
Preparing and serving beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate ones
Preparing and serving food items such as soups, sandwiches and pastries
Answering customers’ questions about menu choices
Promoting and recommending menu options to customers
Taking payment from customers
Maintaining inventory and equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs
Keeping the work environment sanitary and organized
Evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality of service
Working to attract new customers and expanding the menu
Removing used plates, glasses, cutlery and napkins from tables after diners are done eating
Replacing cutlery and glassware in anticipation of new diners
Interact with guests in a friendly/fast manner
Clear, clean, and prepare tables
Bringing out meal orders if waitstaff are busy
Escalate guest service issues to management if you are unable to resolve
Ensure guests are satisfied during their meal service
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Listen well and communicate in a professional and friendly manner
Focus on customer satisfaction
Practice basic safety procedures with the rep concerning handling hot beverages
Be efficient and organized
Build good relationships with customers
Maintain a clean work environment
Keep supplies replenished to minimize downtime
High school diploma or GED preferred
Minimum of 6 months of server experience
Experience in hospitality preferred
Possess basic math skills and cash-handling
Ability and flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
