We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onwards toward certifying the Joby aircraft with the Federal Aviation Administration, scaling our manufacturing, and preparing to launch commercial service in 2025.

Overview:

We're looking for a highly motivated Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Air Taxi Product team. We are seeking an experienced quality engineer who is passionate about building something exciting and new and wants to help make quiet, emissions-free flight an everyday reality. As a senior quality assurance engineer on the air taxi product team you will work closely with product management, design, engineering and flight operations to realize a brand new suite of applications that will power our air taxi services. This is the first QA hire focused on our consumer & operations software. You will have the opportunity to shape best practices and the future of QA on the Air Taxi Team.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with engineering, product and design to ensure our suite of air taxi products meets the product requirements

Identify, reproduce, isolate and report bugs

Develop automated testing and conduct hands-on testing for our product suite

Conduct user focused testing for new features

Create comprehensive QA plans and manage their execution

Utilize the simulation capability to test and validate our air taxi services

Collaborate with our frontend and backend teams on incorporating key test frameworks into our air taxi product suite

Manage project timelines and release schedules

Aid in prioritization and communication of issues between customers, product and engineering

Required:

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field

5+ years of Software QA experience crafting, maintaining and carrying out test plans

3+ years of programming experience, preferably in scripting and automated testing

Understanding of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and testing tools

Worked with automation test tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Apium or Cypress

Experience crafting test reporting dashboards and reports, enabling seamless status reporting to multi-functional partners

Experience identifying automation requirements and crafting solutions to address test execution challenges

Experience diagnosing and debugging complex systems

Enjoys working in a dynamic environment that is evolving and may be demanding at times

Proficient at balancing multiple efforts simultaneously and meeting deadlines

Proactive, take initiatives, and work independently

Experience with real time data processing and streaming

Desired:

Have experience with project management

Experience with ticket tracking systems and preferably experience with Linear.

Have experience working closely with operations teams

Experience handling sensitive customer data and logs

Experience with simulation technologies

Experience with cloud environments as well as application deployment and scaling technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, docker, Firebase

Ability to maximize efficiency of testing and QA by utilizing the engineers, product managers and designers most effectively

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay, bonus, and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $110,500 - $147,300/yr. The compensation package offered will be determined by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
