The sustaining activities involve technical solutions to ensure on time delivery, reliability, and cost reduction.

This role is ideal for someone looking to further their technical knowledge and expertise in high frequency RF component engineering through a hands-on approach in a fast-paced, dynamic development environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Own all engineering activities for a family of products including multiple new product introductions to production and sustaining activities.

Coordinate with the Design and CAD teams to create documentation for state-of-the-art high frequency packages including surface mount packages (such as QFNs), connectorized modules, evaluation circuits, and surface mount eval boards.

Own all product release documents including bill of materials, mechanical outline drawings, assembly drawings, work instructions and component datasheets.

Review prototype materials, circuit layout, component selection and device assembly for new prototypes and ensure that all tooling required is ready in time for assembly and test.

Work with the prototype assembly team to deliver builds on time; follow up on issues or changes as needed during the build process.

Troubleshoot prototypes and packaging designs for electrical, mechanical, or reliability issues.

Create robust test plans that quickly and efficiently validate prototypes, and that can be used as a basis for in depth analysis and full characterization.

Generate test travelers for the production team to use to validate parts in production quantities.

Understand the theory behind RF/Microwave testing and know how to run component level tests including but not limited to S-parameters, Noise Figure/Temperature, Conversion Loss, Power Compression, Harmonic Generation, Intermodulation Distortion, Spur Generation, and Transient Response Time.

Generate test data for all datasheet parameters as well as specific customer requested measurements covering DC to >125GHz.

Troubleshoot test and measurement issues including equipment setup, calibration and test conditions to confirm that testing is performed accurately. Creatively solve characterization problems with systematic solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, QA, Planning, Trade Compliance, Purchasing, and Reliability) to ensure all drawings and technical documents are error free prior to manufacturing release.
