Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor Afternoon Shift (3:00pm -11:30pm)

The production Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager. The production supervisor will lead a team of hourly plant production employees. The holder of this position will supervise the production facility in Woodbridge with a focus on production, cost savings, product quality, health and safety activities and optimize the use of resources. The successful candidate will also promote staff development.

Position Tasks and Responsibilities

Maintain and build an environment conductive to productive and positive relationships with employees.

Support and train hourly production employees and serve as a mentor and coach to ensure the successful development of their staff.

Assume a leadership role in the health and safety program.

Monitor and generate reports on production related performance.

Lead and complete projects assigned by the Plant Manager.

Encourage process improvements in all operational functions.

Train to operate production equipment when needed.

Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have between 1 and 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

Post-secondary degree/ diploma in engineering, science or a related technical field an asset.

Experience in a supervisory capacity promoting a teamwork approach.

Experience in coaching and mentoring to assist in successful staff development.

Ability to work independently and take initiative with a positive outlook.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Proven ability to perform multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.

High level of computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to maintain open and effective communication with employees and all levels of management.

Self-motivated person that is able to complete assignments on time with little to no supervision.

Ability to maintain confidentiality as necessary.
