San Luis Valley Health is seeking a Director of Anesthesia Services to join our Anesthesiology team. This position ensures that SLVH and the contracted entities have adequate coverage and is meeting regulatory standards in the practice of anesthesia. What You'll Need:

Masters Degree in Nursing or associated field

Must be a licensed, qualified CRNA who has successfully completed an approved anesthesia program from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and accepted by the the state of Colorado for licensure.

Must Have two years experience as a CRNA

BLS, ACLS, PALS required

What You'll Do:

Comprehensive knowledge of anesthesia care and practice

Responsible for assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of care according to accepted anesthesia and hospital standards of care.

Assumes 24 hour responsibility for the department through delegation to staff members and availability by phone or pager when on call for the organization, albeit for anesthesia or nurse leader call.

Maintains applicable professional standards for accreditation by CMS and other State and Federal agencies associated with SLVH

Operate in conformity with qualifications for reimbursement under Medicaid, Medicare, and other government programs as well as third party reimbursements.

Oversee staff CRNA's and their anesthesia care as well as there communication and interaction with patient, family and staff.

Performs all duties of a staff CRNA.

Ensures competency validation of all direct reports and ensures all staff have required certifications pertinent to position.

Remains current in all activities related to performance improvement and patient safety initiatives and relays information as appropriate.

Position Highlights:
