Job Description

TITLE: Assembler (Intern)

LOCATION: Pontiac, MI

DIRECT REPORTS: N/A

FLSA STATUS: Hourly

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

Function: This person will be reporting to the Production Supervisor and will also follow directions from the Production Manager for daily operations. The position will mainly entail, but not be limited to, the following tasks:

· Perform activities in assembly functions, including installation of attachments including loader, backhoes, and mid-mount mower products

· Perform assembly and material movement functions

· Follow production schedules and communicate with supervisor

· Receive instructions from the production supervisor and operations on the production plan

· Fits, aligns, calibrates, and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements; repairing units or products that have failed to meet requirements

· Inventory control and cycle counts

· Maintain a clean working environment

· Must be able to lift 35-50 lbs.

· Must have knowledge of hand tools

· Must have knowledge of Crane Operation

· Performs other duties and/or completes training as required by the supervisor.

NOTE: Duties for this and all assembly levels are generically defined to describe job functions with similar skill levels. Area supervision has the responsibility of defining and communicating those duties that apply to specific job functions within this classification.

REQUIREMENTS: Experience in the following elements is required:

· Previous experience in a manufacturing operations environment

· Overhead crane experience preferred

· Trained and competent in industrial environment

· Valve assembly - Mechanical experience

· Quality and Safety background

· Must be at least 18 years or older

· Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English

· High school diploma or GED required

· Previous assembler experience on a production floor

· Work involves physical demands typically found in a manufacturing environment, such as but not limited to prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and/or moving materials
