LINE COOK
The Line Cook will assist in the successful operation of the culinary department, ensuring sanitation and food standards are achieved.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Prepare and cook foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
Maintain purchasing, receiving and food storage standards.
Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
Recognize superior quality products, presentations, and flavor.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Follow proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
Operate and maintains all department equipment and reports malfunctions.
Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
Follow recipes and maintain high standards
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a high-volume hotel and restaurant environment as a Line Cook
2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or 3 years’ experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
Passionate culinarian with great palette and sense of presentation
Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well in environment with time constraints
Ability to troubleshoot effectively
Detail-oriented with good organizational skills, performing work accurately and efficiently
Demonstrated excellent communication skills
Must maintain a professional image and demonstrable leadership skills
Ability to lift 50lbs; sit, stand, walk for an extended period of time
Must be comfortable working a flexible schedule and have the ability to work outside of normal business hours (i.e. evenings, weekends and public holidays, as needed)
Salary: CI$6.00– CI$8.00 per hour + gratuities
Benefits: In accordance with Cayman Islands law
