Power Limited Technician Job Description

Wireworks specializes in low voltage systems within the Twin Cities, as well as other cities across the nation. That doesn’t mean you have to travel, it means there is plenty of work to do here. Responsibilities:

● Installing low voltage systems such as security alarms, access control systems, CCTV, and other electronic systems

● Performing maintenance and troubleshooting on existing systems to ensure they are functioning properly

● Testing and inspecting systems to identify and resolve any issues or malfunctions

● Wiring circuits, connecting components, and configuring control panels according to specifications

● Collaborating with clients or project managers to understand system requirements and design solutions

● Providing technical support and training to clients or end-users on system operation and maintenance

● Adhering to safety protocols and regulations while working with electrical equipment and wiring

● Documenting work performed, including installation procedures, test results, and maintenance activities

● Keeping up-to-date with advancements in low voltage technology and industry best practice

● Collaborating with other technicians or contractors as needed to complete projects efficiently and effectively

Skills:

● Electrical knowledge of wiring systems; specifically low voltage experience

● Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams

● Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to identify and resolve issues with electronic systems efficiently

● Detail & Quality Minded

● Solid Communication skills both written and verbal

● Awareness of all safety protocols and regulations

● Will and able to learn new technologies

● Excellent time management and efficiency skills including the ability to prioritize, manage workflow and meet deadlines

Requirements:

● Maintain active PLT status with the DOL

● Ability to work with hand overhead for periods of time

● Current and clean drivers record

● Ability to consistently lift 75 lbs

Education:

High School Diploma

PLT Certification - Current
