Marketing and Sales Representative

Job Description

The Marketing and Sales Representative is responsible for providing a full array of marketing support and customer service for the Maryland State Lottery on the Eastern Shore including Talbot, Dorchester, and Wicomico Counties.

The position will work with retailers to help provide a better and a more productive network. This will be accomplished through professional training, assisting retailers with accounting related issues. The Marketing and Sales Representative will also assist in developing and upgrading the retailer network, along with providing research feedback on games, promotional ideas, and supporting the customer at Lottery public affairs events.

Regular travel will be a weekly requirement of this job. Extensive travel will be required at times, as well as occasional overnight trips, some evening and weekend work.

Principal Activities:

Conduct Training at Retailer locations.

Conduct research on new games and promotions.

Attend public affairs special events and Lottery parties.

Interact with the regional managers and district sales managers on a weekly basis to foster a relationship.

Visit Retailers in assigned territories to help increase Lottery sales through utilization of developed marketing techniques and the Salesmaker program.

Assist in the recruiting of new Retailers.

Work with the MSL Rep to upgrade existing Retailers.

Attend Retailer rallies and all Retailer related functions.

Attend monthly sales meetings.

Complete all administrative work and expenses on a timely fashion.

Perform any other duties required by management.

Skills Required:

At least 3 years of sales experience is preferred, however related work experience would be considered.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Company Description
