Refrigeration Mechanic

Requirements:

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

At least three (3) years of work experience performing plumbing, painting, electrical, heating and air conditioning repair, and/or maintenance work.

At least six (6) years of work experience performing plumbing, painting, electrical, heating and air conditioning repair, and/or maintenance work.

Must have the ability to work a flexible work schedule, starting as early as 4:00am.

Minimum of 3-5 years previous experience as a mechanic in a warehouse environment is required.

Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimum supervision.

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Previous experience with Preventative Maintenance Systems required

Communicate effectively both verbally and written

Ability to support and work with engineering on projects.

Must be able to read and understand schematics.

Must have working knowledge of the metric system.

Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in mechanical in a work or school environment

Preferred Qualifications: (desired)

Food storage experience preferred.

Certification in maintenance related skills preferred

Technology/polytechnic degree preferred.

Associates' degree in industrial maintenance preferred

Be able to weld, and do basic sheet metal work.

Be able to do basic copper, PVC, black iron and stainless plumbing.

Experienced with material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, stackers.

Experienced with spare parts organization, maintenance prioritization, and preventative maintenance systems.

Ability to perform unit measures, conversion calculations and other mathematical calculations reasonably necessary to satisfactorily perform job duties.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Experienced use of Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) applications:

Recording time and materials usage

Requesting and planning future work

Must be able to manage work activities to achieve timely completion of all assigned tasks

Ability to perform preventative maintenance on equipment to assure an efficient and long-term trouble-free operation.

Motivated self-starter with the ability to work in a team and independently to achieve team objectives.
