LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled Buyer to join our client’s procurement team. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services within the automotive industry, with a focus on cost-effectiveness, quality, and supplier relationship management.

Responsibilities:

Source and negotiate contracts for materials, components, and services required for automotive manufacturing operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality standards are met.

Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, and negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.

Analyze market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks to identify opportunities for cost reduction, supply chain optimization, and supplier diversification.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, quality assurance, and logistics, to align procurement strategies with business goals and project requirements.

Manage supplier relationships and resolve issues related to pricing, quality, delivery, and contractual agreements in a timely and effective manner.

Monitor and track supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality metrics, and cost savings, and provide regular reports and updates to management.

Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations, including automotive industry standards and ethical sourcing practices.

Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and supplier capabilities to make informed procurement decisions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Support new product launches, engineering changes, and cost reduction projects by coordinating procurement activities and ensuring timely availability of materials and components.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience

Minimum of 1 year of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or commodity buying within the automotive industry.

Strong knowledge of automotive materials, components, and suppliers, with a focus on cost analysis, supplier negotiations, and contract management.

Experience with procurement tools and systems, such as ERP software, e-sourcing platforms, and supplier performance metrics.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Familiarity with automotive industry standards, regulations, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO/TS 16949) is preferred.
