Structural/Civil Engineer with P.E. license and construction background to conduct forensic investigations of commercial, institutional, high-rise and residential buildings. This is a hybrid position that can work remotely, from the office, or a combination of both.
Typical engineering assignments include determining the cause of structural failures, construction defects, water/moisture intrusion, roof damages, structural collapses, foundation/settlement, and more.
Additional projects include storm damage assessments, post-fire damage and structural integrity evaluations, and providing professional opinions and expert witness testimony.
Responsibilities
Determine the cause and origin of structural failures and construction defects.
Conduct field inspections to document onsite conditions.
Conduct building envelope evaluations for residential and commercial structures.
Conduct moisture/water intrusion damage evaluations.
Prepare and provide oral and written reports, timely.
May be called upon for expert witness testimony.
50/50 field work and office duties.
Qualifications
BSCE from an accredited school, required
15+ years of professional experience having 5+ years of forensics
P.E. license in state applying to (ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENT), required
Having additional P.E. licenses in additional state's, preferred
NCEES, Preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills, required.
Strong understanding of building materials, residential and commercial construction, and building codes
