Job Title: Sr. CAD Engineer

Department: Operations

Reports To: Engineering and Quality Manager

Key Responsibilities:

· Review all production drawings to ensure they are accurate, that they meet product design specifications, and are suitable for production.

· Recommend and implement changes to products, design processes, and technical specifications.

· Assist in new product development efforts.

· Lead design projects to resolve technical issues based on customer feedback.

· Liaison with production teams to resolve design issues and enhance details for manufacturability.

· Lead projects to assist with business unit improvement efforts including preventive and corrective actions.

· Work closely with Project Managers to clarify design intent and technical requirements of each customer project.

· Review shop drawing for design issues and adequacy of information.

· Work with production personnel to continuously improve quality of engineered products.

· Create engineering drawings and specifications for new products and custom order requirements. Mentor Jr. Engineers and Drafters in each plant.

· Assist with cost estimates for each customer project.

· Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or closely related field.

· Work experience in a manufacturing environment for a minimum of 3 years.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Strong working knowledge of ACAD and Solid Works.

· Strong knowledge of engineering principles and methods.

· Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.

· Skilled with use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe editor.

· Understanding of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Desired Qualifications:

· Advanced engineering degree or Master of Business Administration.

· Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Work Environment: This role is located in a manufacturing environment and will require some walking. Some travel may be required. Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.

an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
