PrimeSource Building Products, Inc., one of the nation’s largest wholesale distributors of building supply products, has an immediate opportunity for a Drayage Manager in our Irving, Tx office.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Primary contact for the business with our last mile providers and will play a pivotal role in leading all relevant relationships, business awards, and contracts. You will be responsible for securing the capacity that we need, improving performance, and controlling costs. You will be a business partner with Member Experience, Supply Planning, and Middle Mile Logistics and will manage team members responsible for the day-to-day execution of member deliveries.
You should have at least 4 years direct experience in logistics (Last Mile Logistics a plus, a solid understanding of how logistics interacts with end-to-end supply chain fundamentals, strong Excel Modeling and Analysis skills (TMS experience a plus) and be an effective planner and delegator.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Manage the development and work of a team of Logistics Specialists
Be responsible for tracking and improving last mile metrics such as on-time delivery, first offer date, etc.
Act as the main point of contact for last mile
Create and communicate the last mile forecast based on cost and performance.
Audit and approve all last mile invoices.
Support end-to-end transportation processing and tracking from booking to final delivery on international shipments.
Facilitate communication and visibility alignment on operations between service providers and both internal/external customers.
Analyze data trends to highlight potential opportunities for improvement within transportation process. Collaborate with immediate management and other related parties to develop and implement feasible and effective solutions and/or alternatives.
Coordinate with all carriers, forwarders, and other related service providers to review service performance and make continual improvements to meet evolving business needs.
Minimum Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Experience:
3-5 years of experience and knowledge in the freight forwarding industry
Experience in LCL Ocean Cargo logistics and documentation
Knowledge of general freight forwarding terms and standards; working knowledge of import and export transportation
Proficient knowledge of world geography, import documentation, and Incoterms.
SAP experience preferred but not required
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs; specifically, MS Word, Power Point, Excel & Teams
Bi-Lingual (English and Mandarin)
