The Certification Engineer at AEVEX Aerospace is responsible for assessing the design, manufacturing processes, and operational procedures to ensure they meet safety, reliability, and performance criteria established by regulatory agencies, industry standards, and customer specifications.
Essential Functions
Prepares and/or reviews project specific certification plans, compliance checklists, conformity inspection plans and certification summary reports
Ensures all technical data required to show compliance is reviewed, accepted, and approved by the appropriate technical DER
Organizes and tracks conformity inspections
Identifies potential risks associated with the design, manufacturing or operational aspects of the project and develops strategies to mitigate these risks to ensure safety and compliance
Works closely with the engineering team, regulatory authorities, and management
Prepares and/or reviews engineering reports, showing compliance to FAA certification standards and regulations
Reviews technical documentation, including design plans, test reports, and maintenance procedures to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements
Reviews and approved design changes from a certification perspective
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Competencies
Familiarity with FAA regulations, FAA orders, advisory circulars, and other guidance material
Experience processing FAA approvals
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare and give presentations
Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Ability to research guidance material and technical publications to determine solutions to project issues.
Demonstrated experience reviewing and approving drawings
Security Clearance
Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.
