Senior Land Development Design Manager

Lead position for an experienced and licensed Civil Engineer who has demonstrated capability to manage a design team and to guide large projects from concept to completion.

The person in this position will:

· Consult with clients and senior management to guide a project from its concept phase through design approvals and ultimately construction;

· Be responsible for developing and adhering to project schedules and budgets;

· Manage a team of staff engineers and other support personnel while actively engaging in design services, all as required to successfully complete project designs, secure permits and approvals, and prepare construction documents;

· Be responsible for managing multiple projects and overseeing professional staff;

· Represent the firm in meetings with the client, municipal regulatory bodies, and other permitting agencies – attendance at night meetings is occasional;

· Be familiar with understanding and interpreting local zoning, land development, stormwater management, and flood plain ordinances;

· Be familiar with road design, site grading and parking lot design, utility design and stormwater management design and systems, as well as post-construction stormwater management systems and design;

· Be responsible for reviewing the work of staff and developing staff talent;

· Be ready for the challenge of working on large projects.

Candidates should have completed a BS or MS in Civil Engineering and be a Professional Engineer registered in Pennsylvania (or be able to obtain registration in Pennsylvania via reciprocity within 6 months of hire). Candidates should have a minimum of 10-years’ experience with subdivision and land development design and be familiar with AutoCAD Civil 3D, stormwater management modeling methods including SCS-based and Rational-based methods, HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS, design of roadway geometry, and Microsoft Office Suite programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for this position.

While this leadership position may occasionally require in-person meetings with clients and public boards, working remotely and virtually with some flexibility in hours is a feasible alternative to full-time in-office participation.
