Currently, we are looking for the Operational Manager to join our team in East Dundee, IL to direct and oversee transportation-related operations for Route One Transport.

The Operations Manager will be managing staff that assists with transportation activities such as dispatching, recruiting, safety, fleet and accounting. While promoting a driver-centric culture, the expectation is to focus on Route Ones growth through continuous hiring, retention programs, fleet and fiscal management.

Responsibilities:

Implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency across all departments, identifying bottlenecks and developing solutions for smoother workflows.

Efficiently allocate resources including manpower, equipment, and finances to meet operational demands while minimizing costs.

Plan the operations of the division and own targets according to the goals and quotas set by the COO. Ensure timely reporting on progress.

Establish team member performance metrics and tracking systems to monitor operational KPIs, promptly addressing deviations and optimizing performance.

Participating in the hiring process by defining job requirements, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions in collaboration with HR.

Facilitating the integration of new employees into the organization by providing necessary training, orientation sessions, and ensuring they understand company policies and procedures.

Setting performance expectations, conducting regular performance evaluations, providing feedback, and addressing performance issues as they arise.

Handling employee grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies and legal requirements, and fostering a positive work environment.

Identifying training needs, coordinating training programs, and supporting employees' professional development to enhance their skills and capabilities.

Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to operational teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Identify potential risks to operations and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them, ensuring business continuity and resilience.

Foster effective communication channels with internal team members, ensuring alignment of operational objectives with organizational goals.

Stay updated on relevant industry regulations and standards, ensuring operational activities adhere to legal and compliance requirements.

Ensure compliance with company approved policies and standards for adhering to excellence quality standards and overall process streamlining.

Promote the company brand via social media, media partnerships and public relations efforts.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience in the US Trucking business, at least 3 years of experience in a managing role.

Knowledge and understanding of East-European culture

Proficiency in English and Russian is a must!
