Job Overview:

The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of computer networks across the Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando campus as well as the WAN with Loews Hotels Corporate. The Network Engineer is also responsible for assisting with project management tasks as well as departmental documentation, financial aspects as it relates to the budget, and ownership of the requisition and procurement process.

Job Duties:

Network Infrastructure Support: Assist in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. This includes tasks like setting up VLANs and ensuring proper network connectivity.

Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance and respond to network issues or outages. Utilize network monitoring tools to identify and resolve problems, such as network congestion, connectivity issues, or security breaches. Troubleshooting skills are vital for identifying and resolving network-related issues.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures. This documentation helps in troubleshooting, knowledge sharing, and ensuring the network is properly documented for future reference.

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other teams, such as system administrators, software developers, and helpdesk support, to ensure seamless integration and troubleshooting of network-related issues. Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members and explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Learning and Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest networking technologies, industry standards, and best practices. Continuously learn and enhance your knowledge through self-study, training courses, and certifications relevant to the field of networking.

Requirements:

· Minimum of 1-2 years prior work experience required with:

o Datacenter networks including wireless, using industry standard hardware (Cisco, Ruckus, HPE)

o Fiber and copper network infrastructure (testing, troubleshooting)

· Possessing knowledge with:

o TCP/IP routing protocols

o Multicast configuration and troubleshooting

o Configure and troubleshoot network topology protocols (STP)

o SolarWinds

o Data network architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols

o Wireshark (packet capture and analysis)

o MS Office (focus on Visio, Word and Excel)

Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise network engineering role.

3. In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g. TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, MPLS).

4. Experience with enterprise-grade WIFI solutions (e.g. Cisco Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus).

5. Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.

6. Relevant certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, CWNA) are highly desirable.

7. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Enterprise WIFI and Datacenter experience

Palo Alto experience preferred
