Our client is looking for a Vice President of Finance to be a key member of the executive team, providing financial leadership and insightful guidance to help drive the company’s success. This position has a fiduciary responsibility to the shareholders and is responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of multiple portfolio companies within his or her purview. This includes the generation of financial data and the oversight of the accounting teams preparing it.

In addition to accounting and financial oversight of these multiple independently run businesses, this individual will help drive the profitability of these businesses by providing educated guidance to the business’ executive teams. This role requires a thorough understanding of finance and a passion for driving the optimum performance of a business for the long term.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements in accordance with historical accounting practices and the distribution thereof.

Keep the Corporate CFO informed of significant events within the companies under his/her purview.

Identify key company measurements, oversee the preparation of the relevant data and make recommendations to assist management with their strategic decision making.

Conduct financial analysis with the goal of identifying trends and opportunities to guide decision making.

Lead, manage and assemble the best accounting team. This includes hiring, discipline and terminations.

Lead/participate in the evaluation of opportunities within the current business which might include new products, technology, sites or customer driven requirements.

Provide assistance in the form of education and financial information to management and the operations department to assist them with decision making, accountability and attainment of company goals.

Monitoring capital projects and coordinating the funding of such.

Make recommendations regarding the company’s internal controls and accounting policies to best safeguard company assets.

Make recommendations regarding the company’s internal controls and accounting policies in order to ensure control over financial transactions and financial reporting. This includes but would not be limited to revenue recognition and expense cutoff.

Oversee any new ERP system implementation.

Coordination of the completion of the annual tax return files as requested by the corporate office.

Education, Experience, Other Skills

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

Fifteen years’ work experience in an accounting function.

Ten or more years’ supervisory experience in an accounting/financial management function. M&A experience is a plus.

Demonstrated experience working with ERP systems and accounting software.

Working knowledge of Federal, State and Local income, payroll, and other taxes.
