Senior Cisco VOIP Engineer/Architect- (RELO )

Job Title: Cisco VOIP Engineer

Location: Irvine, CA

Industry: Financial Services

Experience: 7+ years in IT Telecom, including significant Cisco-related voice experience

Certification: CCNP/CCIE Collaboration active certification highly preferred

Responsibilities:

The Telecom Engineer III is a senior-level technical position responsible for providing support and troubleshooting for all Voice over IP (VOIP) components of the enterprise. This includes telephony desktop applications, reporting applications, recording applications, and any other intercommunication support required for inbound and outbound calls. The role also involves assisting in deploying telephony infrastructure as required.

Administer and maintain telecommunications hardware, software, and networked peripherals.

Perform capacity planning and analysis to ensure the telecommunications strategy supports the long-term growth of data and applications.

Configure redundancy where appropriate to ensure uninterrupted telecommunications services in case of failure.

Implement new telecommunications technologies to meet business objectives.

Work closely with the Information Security group to incorporate technical and operational controls into new and existing telecommunication solutions.

Follow ITIL and ITSM practices, completing assigned tickets within service level standards.

Perform changes to the telecommunications environment under strict change control guidelines with minimal to zero negative impact.

Keep all support documentation current, including disaster recovery plans and voice communication procedures.

Participate in ongoing maintenance, testing, and governance of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

Provide Tier 3 support for all voice infrastructure and applications.

Mentor Telecom Engineers I/II.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in the IT Telecom arena, including significant Cisco-related voice experience.

Occasional travel up to 30%.

CCNP/CCIE Collaboration active certification highly preferred.

Solid understanding of routing and switching protocols.

Strong working knowledge of Cisco Call Manager, Webex, Unity, UCCX Contact Center, E911, Voice Gateways, Call Recording, Voice gateways (MGCP/H323/SIP), SSO.

Financial Service Industry experience preferred.

UC Experience and QoS

Total Compensation: $150,000 to $195,000 annually with an annual performance bonus in a pleasant work environment, competitive compensation, and an excellent benefits package; including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, LTD, and 401(k) with employer match.
