The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for working with inventory management, operations, warehouse and product development to execute all procurement activities for the packaging, equipment, ingredients and supplies for all plant operations. This position is mission critical to the company's operation for ensuring ongoing success
Key duties include:
Reviewing historical demand schedules and projected sales forecasts to assess the current inventory levels and determine future purchasing needs
Executing purchase orders at the right times to ensure accurate stock levels, while taking into account the perishability of ingredients
Negotiating with new and existing suppliers to ensure best possible pricing
Sourcing new supplier relationships for new ingredients to provide higher quality and more favorable pricing
Managing all supplier relationships to ensure correct delivery times and appropriate pricing
Communicating with suppliers on forecasts to ensure all needs are met
Creating Supplier scorecards to determine reliability, performance and conformance to the company's requirements
Obtain the necessary documentation to meet FSQA guidelines
Requirements include:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field
3+ years' experience in purchasing in a food manufacturing environment
Strong contract and negotiation skills
ERP and Strong Excel
