Our client in Boston is looking to hire a Managing Director, Digital Marketing to join their team! While this role can be mostly remote, you'll need to be able to work from their Boston office a few times per month.
The Managing Director, Digital Marketing will be overseeing the Email, SEO and Content departments and ensuring profitability, client satisfaction/retention and team culture.
The main focus of this role is email marketing strategy, but you need to have a solid understanding of SEO as well.
**A minimum of 10 years of experience within email marketing, SEO and people management are required; agency experience strongly preferred**
Key responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Directors that oversee Email, SEO and Content divisions
- Monitor the departments utilization and efficiency, ensuring optimal performance and resource allocation as measured by monthly contribution margin and utilization reporting
- Ensure department is performing to appropriate financial KPIs and routinely collaborate with company leaders and finance to evaluate goals and performance
- Lead department's strategic initiatives, such as productizing services, developing new processes and building learning resources
- Provide strategic direction for 3-5 key accounts, participate in new business pitching and development for key business
- Consistently maintain target client retention across service lines, looking to expand monthly recurring revenue
- Act as a key point of contact for client escalations, utilization reviews and operational performance issues
- Innovate and refine departmental processes and best practices
The ideal Managing Director, Digital Marketing will have:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience within Email Marketing, SEO and other digital areas; agency experience strongly preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex concepts in a straightforward way
- Demonstrated leadership in managing teams with a focus on performance management and fostering collaborative environment
- A mastery of enterprise email marketing service providers and automation technologies like Hubspot, Pardot, Marketo and Klaviyo
- Master of crawling and auditing tools - SEMRush, ScreamingFrog, AHrefs, Moz, etc.
- Strong ability to analyze data and organic performance - Google Analytics, Google Search, etc.
- Exposure to off-page and listing management platforms - Yext, Google Business Profile, etc.
- A strong understanding of content's role in marketing performance
