We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to assist in the delivery of our construction projects.

As a Senior Project Engineer you have gained exposure to the Electrical and Instrumentation components of projects in an EPC environment, can lead a small team of engineers and supervisors and have strong subcontract management skills.

The successful candidate will initially commence in the Brisbane office for a short period and will transition to a site-based FIFO role on a 2 week on, 1 week off roster.

The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for:

Directing and coordinating the activities of a project team associated with the Electrical package, programme workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to project staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.

Manage on-site engineering functions and procurement activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.

Demonstrate safety leadership and complete safety observations / audits.

Contribute to constructability improvements for the design.

Arrange and oversee the letting of supply or works contracts as required.

Assist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports.

Monitor project progress for adherence to programme and report to the Project Manager.

Coordinate the plant design deliverables and interface with procurement or construction via the respective lead engineers or Design Manager.

Assist Planner and the Project Manager to prepare and update schedules for the project.

Ensure that contract works ‘packages’ are engineered in accordance with standards set by both client and the company.

Timely issuance of contracts / purchase orders and ensure that they comply with both the Head Contract and internal procedures.

Support construction management and supervision personnel in the delivery of the Electrical works packages including development of documentation to ensure safe delivery of the work and compliance to project drawings, standards and specifications.

Ensure that all variations to scope and or specifications are approved and documented.

Support Project Manager for end of month cost reviews, preparation of forecasts and financial reports.

Set up and maintain orderly project directory files and ensure that schedules, drawings and correspondence are recorded, stored and distributed in accordance with procedure.

Support effective subcontractor management to ensure commercial and quality KPI’s are achieved.

Manage the close out of E&I construction QA for commissioning readiness and assist the project team in the transition from construction to commissioning phase.As an experienced Senior Project Engineer, you demonstrate the following qualities:

Tertiary education in electrical engineering.

10+ years’ construction project experience preferably within the mining and resources sector

Solid Leadership experience with a focus on nurturing a strong organisational culture.

Strong commercial skills and have demonstrated experience negotiating and managing contracts.

Procurement and/or Contract Administration of site subcontracts.

Experience in cost control and planning

Experience in Computerised Commissioning Management System (Hexagon’s Smart Completions or similar) highly desirable.

Great interpersonal and communication skills and collaborate well with diverse teams and build positive relationships.

Experience with MS Office Suite and MS Project or Primavera P6We’re on a journey and here is what we can offer you:
