Overview: The IT Intern at Surge Staffing will play a pivotal role in supporting the IT Department across various functions. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of IT and understand their significance in a growing organization. The intern will collaborate closely with teams in Technical Support, Systems Administration, Asset Management, and Deployment Coordination.

Location: Full-time (Monday - Friday) On-Site position at Surge Staffing HQ in Columbus, Ohio.

Responsibilities:

Partner with mentors in each IT-related role, providing support in their specific duties.

Serve as the first line of support for any information technology issues and problems.

Provide assistance via phone, email, or ticket management system, tracking issues to resolution.

Support computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and applications.

Escalate problems to Tier 2 and Tier 3 support teams as required.

Follow up on tickets at pre-defined intervals until resolved, acting as a liaison between customers and technical escalation teams.

Conduct audits on file system permissions and Raspberry Pi devices across the company, reporting status and age.

Manage Active Directory and Exchange email accounts.

Provide network and local printer support and troubleshooting.

Undertake additional tasks or projects to broaden understanding of IT and office operations.

Qualifications:

At least a Junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities.

Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Exchange Administration, and related software.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Methodical approach to problem-solving using appropriate tools.

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and good judgment.
