Position Summary

This position will represent MG&CC by projecting a positive and professional image while managing and coordinating the purchasing and receiving of MG&CC food and beverage items, as well as some materials as needed. Responsibilities include purchase requisitioning, inventory control, receiving and storage functions, as well as ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of all products.

Key Responsibilities

Adhere to MG&CC procurement and F&B purchase policies, procedures and systems to support the business, from product identification; purchase requisitioning; receiving; storage and inventory control.

Ensure timely, cost effective product acquisition and related delivery schedules.

Collaborate with key internal team members (kitchen, catering coordinator, clubhouse manager, locker room attendant, etc.) to determine food and beverage requirements for day-to-day operations, special Club events and member events, including related delivery locations and timelines.

Negotiate with suppliers / vendors to secure the best possible price and service guarantee.

Develop new supply sources where vendors are inadequate, unreliable, too costly etc.

Establish account/credit and terms with new and existing vendors, suppliers and distributors.

Negotiate blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitor cost during the period.

Receive all food and beverage items upon delivery, ensuring all items are accounted for and are of high quality. Reconcile any undelivered / poor quality items against payment.

Maintain accurate inventory and record of all food and beverage items.

Authorize all supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and entering into computer system for tracking purposes.

Identify opportunities to continuously improve purchasing processes at MG&CC

Perform other duties as requested by the Clubhouse Manager

Skills and Qualifications

3+ years of related experience in a Golf Club/hospitality environment

College diploma in a Business Administration, Production or Inventory Management related program an asset

Certification with Purchasing Management Association, Association of Production and Inventory Control or equivalent is an asset

Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics

Ability to take initiative and be resourceful

Demonstrated skills in task management, planning and organization

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers and distributors

High achievement motivation – demonstrated results orientation

Solid decision making skills

Excellent communication skills – verbal, written & presentation

Ability to negotiate with professionalism, tact and diplomacy

Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal team and customers

Focused on delivering high levels of service to customers (internal and external)

Teamwork and cooperation

Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes and procedures

Complete knowledge of inventory control policies and procedures

Extensive knowledge and ability to negotiate best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements

Working knowledge of all MG&CC food and beverage offerings

Proficient experience using Word, Excel, Outlook and internet

Compensation: $23.00- $27.00/hour
