Summary:
In addition to board certified chaplaincy responsibilities, provides oversight and demonstrates leadership while serving as Point of Contact for a specific campus or project(s) in the Spiritual Care Department in collaboration with the Director of the Spiritual Care Department.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrated leadership skills in pastoral ministry environment
Able to be a self-starter, work with a high degree of initiative, and also participate in teams within and beyond the spiritual care department
Develop and deliver appropriate education and in-services to other chaplain and clinical staff on a regular basis
Engage in quality and process improvement initiatives and publish results within appropriate publications
Assess, provide, and document effective spiritual care to patients, families, and staff in a variety of situations, including but not limited to crisis intervention, grief and bereavement, end of life care, and faith crisis
Provide ongoing spiritual assessment of patients and families in assigned areas and implement spiritual care plans with the interdisciplinary care teams
Provide worship experiences for facility needs and patients and families as needed and requested
Develop specialized spiritual care services for specific areas of assignments
Serve as a teaching resource related to the connection between spirituality and health outcomes
Assist with debriefing and support of associates after major events
Serve as an ethics resource for patients, families, associates for a variety of clinical situations, including removal of life sustaining treatment
Serve as mentor for clinical medical students
SERVES AS FACILITATOR FOR CAMPUS MISSION COUNCIL; COORDINATING THE MEETINGS, PLANNING AGENDAS, ENSURING ACCURATE RECORDING OF MINUTES, COORDINATING RELATED MISSION ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE CAMPUS
Requirements:
Education/Skills
Master's Degree
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Certification must be from an approved professional organization such as the National Associate of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC) or Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC)
