Veterinary Anesthesia Technician Assistant

Friendship Hospital For Animals is seeking a Veterinary Anesthesia Technician Assistant to join our dynamic team!

About the role: The technician assistant for the Anesthesia department helps facilitate an efficient workflow throughout the day.

They are responsible for assisting the team with a variety of tasks, both patient care and client care related.

Essential Functions/Technical Skills

Assist with anesthetic induction

Setting up of anesthetic circuit and additional equipment

OR set up and breakdown for anesthetic procedures

Monitor and restock all anesthetic preparation areas appropriately

Assisting with surgical site shaving parameters/margins

Assisting OR with patient positioning and placing monitoring

Assist anesthesia technician with patient transfer

Cleaning of ORs, sterile hallway and anesthetic preparation areas

Assist sterile prep and specialty surgery when needed

Other duties as assigned

Skills And Abilities:

Excellent communication skills-- both verbal and written

Ability to effectively problem solve and make decisions as needed.

Ability to multi-task in a stressful environment

Ability to speak and hear by phone or in person

Ability to read, write and type English

Ability to work as a team player

Ability to use and learn computers

Ability to master large volumes of detailed information

Experience in a veterinary setting
