*Highland Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APP)to join its growing team. Candidates for this role would pick up shifts as needed to support our ICU Medicine team.
Some duties include but are not limited to:
To admit and execute orders on adult patients requiring in-house medical coverage, after resident teams have filled, from the services of Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, subspecialties, Hospitalists, Geriatricians.
Obtains detailed sign-out from the PA teams, to assist in evening cross-coverage and any medical issues the PA teams need to follow up.
To convey pertinent patient medical problems to the covering attending so a medical treatment plan can be formed.
Admit patients to the inpatient medicine service from the Emergency Room, ICU, or direct admission pathways. Obtains a detailed medical history and performs a complete physical examination. Provides for further data collection. Completes all medical record documentation, including assessment/plan.
Salary Range:
$70.00 - $100.00 an hour
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements
1.Education: Graduate of an approved PA or NP program and nationally certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners.
2.Experience: Two to five years in-patient or ICU or critical care PA/NP experience. Demonstrated autonomy and competency managing critically ill patients and excellent problem solving ability. Able to independently perform some invasive procedures. Demonstrated leadership experience in coordinating clinical services for acutely ill patients.
3. License/Certification Required: ACLS certified. Stroke Certification required within one year of hire.
4. Skills: Proficiency in central venous and arterial access. Management and resuscitation of unstable patients. Management of respiratory failure including proficiency with standard modes of mechanical ventilation.
