VACANCY: AMO Accountable Manager

REPORTING TO: Director of Maintenance Africa

LOCATION: Durban

Aero Support Force Durban (Pty) Ltd has a requirement for a resilient, strong and organised professional to fill this position in

KwaZulu-Natal within the Starlite Group.

Overall Role in Business: Responsible for Aero Support Force Durban (Pty) Ltd AMO 824 operational activities and performance in accordance with regulatory and safety requirements, financial budgets and the companys procedures.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Support the development of strategy, objectives and goals for the business

Create the organization, resources, systems, processes and controls to achieve objectives

Develop, motivate and control the teams towards achieving the business objectives

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and implement systems and controls to enable the effective functioning of all sections under your control in the AMO and ensure maximum availability of aircraft and related equipment.

Set annual plans and budgets for Group approval which cover the resources, spares, and spares programs needed to provide the maintenance services for internal and external clients and preparation of the overall Maintenance organisation and budget.

Provide informed cost analysis for new contracts to Starlite Aviation Operations Pty Ltd, Starlite Aviation Training Academy Pty Ltd and third-party clients and ensure strict control of these budgets post contract award for implementation and monthly maintenance operating costs for the aircraft and personnel allocated.

Control and manage the accounting and administration systems and resources to optimise efficiency and cost-effectiveness according to the business plan.

Ensure that regulatory requirements, company policies and procedures are complied with when carrying out maintenance and managing the various maintenance departments.

Build a strong team to deliver superb maintenance services and the systems to ensure enforcement of a quality and safety culture.

Set up and maintain infrastructure and means, creating safe conditions of work for aircraft maintenance activities.

Develop and implement the servicing strategy and standards to conform to international best practice and to ensure customer satisfaction.

Manage and control in-field support services to deployed aircraft and personnel in terms of routine spares support and AOG scenarios as defined by the SLA.

Identify and arrange training through interaction with personnel, CTE and Human Resources.

Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and participate in the negotiations with suppliers to achieve optimal aircraft, logistics arrangement and spares deals / packages.

Provide insight and recommendations into fleet additions, sales and overall planning.

Responsible for the fleet serviceability and availability.

Build and maintain strong relationships between the Director of Maintenance Africa, the Commercial Director, ATO Accountable Manager, AOC Accountable Manager and CAMO Manager.

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Deep knowledge of both the technical and operational management of both Helicopter and Fixed Wing operations

Previous management and experience in an AMO organisation

Knowledge of applicable SACAA regulations and requirements

Strong discipline to uphold the highest performance standards, to achieve organisational objectives and goals

Excellent Customer Service Skills

Excellent Interpersonal Skills

Strong Administration skills

Excellent Communications skills

MS Office Suite, AMO IT tools (e.g. Traxxall)

Languages:

High level of English proficiency (read, speak and write)

French and other (advantageous)

QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The following list of qualifications is essential to fill the position:

Managerial Qualification (advantageous)

SACAA AME License (advantageous)

Proven experience in a senior management role, managing teams and with responsibility for budgets, performance management and operational compliance with a proven track record of achievements in previous roles.

Proven experience of management level experience within civil aviation, maintenance, safety management or quality management role with a proven track record of achievements in previous roles.
