Job Description

As the Inventory Specialist you will be responsible for the accuracy and reporting of the inventory, consisting of raw materials, packaging and finished product. Your main tasks are aimed towards; (1) keeping an organized and up to date stock as well as (2) proactively finding new ways to improve procedures and processes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Manages and executes daily inventory analysis across three (3) locations (Plant, warehouse and DC); identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems in a timely manner.

Weekly and monthly reporting on results of inventory across raw materials, packaging and finished product.

Assures that the physical stock is accurately represented in the inventory management system so the purchaser and operations manager can act based on correct information.

Checks that all stock is processed in a FIFO manner.

Works closely together with staff in two (2) locations (plant and DC) to keep inventory up to date.

Reports on expired products and raw materials

Follows up silo inventory.

Takes lead in quarterly inventory count.

Follows up on spot checks executed by staff.

Assists in roll out of Warehouse Management System

Required Skills/Abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Inventory Management or any related field required; or a minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Inventory Manager in a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in utilizing available technology including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) for reporting purposes.

Proficiency with Inventory Software (any ERP software, Fishbowl Inventory Management a plus).

Proven time management skills and comfortable managing multiple projects with shifting priorities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingual English – Spanish a plus).

Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures.

Experience with WMS is a plus.
