The Position

The Estimator will be the main point of contact throughout the proposal process by collaboratively working with external clients and internal EAB team members. This role will be responsible for improving the efficiency of workflow by assisting the Project Managers with the assessment of proposed projects, gathering equipment counts, reviewing project specifications, determining the scope of work, and providing data for pricing.

Primary Responsibilities:

Analyze bidding documents. Scope will be identified by performing equipment counts of mechanical drawings, reviewing project specifications and reviewing client provided materials.

Serve as the initial point of contact for bidding opportunities. Collaborate with Managers to determine if project schedule is feasible and if requests will be pursued.

Assist in processing of formal Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) requests.

Ability to engage at Pre-Bid meetings and project inspections.

Daily and weekly scheduled collaboration with Field Operations Manager, Pre-Construction Manager or Project Managers.

Monitor Co-op websites and bidding boards for project opportunities. Process bid intent communications, perform document control activities, and maintain company profiles.

Maintain CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software at the direction of management.

Follow company procedures for storing documentation and company nomenclature standards for job numbering/naming.

Coordinate the flow and storage of bidding documentation shared internally.

Routinely review bids for updated documents and process requests from Managers to provide revised proposals.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

2+ years of experience in estimating in the construction industry or related experience.

Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam

Desired Qualifications:

Associate's Degree in construction management or another related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute.

Proficient understanding of the construction industry.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Ability to analyze construction drawings and specifications.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building.
