The Payroll Analyst Processing will perform tasks related to analysis, execution, and support of payroll while maintaining the utmost confidentiality in dealing with employee records and business information. This role will assist with the development and delivery of payroll processing training, assist the supervisor/manager with organizing tasks and reviewing the work of Coordinators. This role is required to work independently and may assist in specialized assignment and will ensure that deliverables meet or exceed individual objectives, adhere to payroll goals, and align with service center strategies.

Responsibilities:

Perform payroll transactions such as data entry, mass uploads, reversals/replacements, and payroll processing jobs.

Review, analyze, and reconcile payroll and other payroll related data according to established timelines, standards, and procedures. Verify payroll related data for accuracy and consistency.

Oversee and ensure Payroll deadlines are met and according to Payroll Processing procedures.

Ensure all company, federal, state, local, and other applicable compliance requirements are met. Ensure payroll is always executed in accordance with SOX controls.

Create and analyze reports of activities and findings to document results and review with the manager.

Document and review payroll operations procedure. Work with the manager and Service Center Documentation team to contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of documentation (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, Desk Top Procedures) to ensure complete, accurate, and up-to-date depiction of processes.

Assist Payroll Coordinators with day-to-day execution of duties and guide them regarding proper procedures, policies, and requirements. Assist the manager with day-to-day task planning and special projects.

Leverage SAP knowledge to partner with IT to request alterations to job schedules, modifications to SAP payroll schemas, and creation of job variants. Collaborate with Payroll teams to leverage new SAP features and enhancements to improve SAP payroll processing compliance, efficiency, and accuracy.

Assure understanding of garnishment and broader Payroll strategies.

Assist in the development, reporting, and review of metrics to drive performance, identify trends, and develop/implement process improvements.

Assist the manager with capturing and responding to escalated issues, policies, and procedures from government agencies, payroll functions, and the operating companies.

Seek feedback, continuously learn, and take advantage of opportunities to improve knowledge, skill, and experience. Monitor results to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

A Bachelor’s degree is required, finance, business or accounting preferred

A minimum of 2 years previous experience in Payroll is required

Previous experience in payroll, preferably for a large multi-state company as coordinator.

Experience in a shared service center environment preferred.

Basic understanding of payroll processes, procedures, controls, regulations, and compliance is required.

A sense of urgency in resolving customer requests and an ability to work under pressure, required.

A high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity to compliance-related matters is required.

Ability to influence others, identify problems, and recommend a course of action.

Experience working on day-to-day operations in conjunction with assigned project work, is required.

Ability to handle ambiguous cases, demonstrating a pragmatic approach is required.

Proficient interpersonal skills and ability to successfully work with stakeholders and colleagues to contribute ideas, identify opportunities, and contribute to positive outcomes is required.

Knowledge of standard business practices and professionalism in a customer service environment are required.

Ability to excel in a team-based environment, demonstrating customer service and teamwork, required.

Demonstrate ability to disseminate knowledge and techniques, required.

Experience providing feedback to help others understand the rationale of desired outcomes and standards is required.

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is preferred.

Experience with payroll systems is required (payroll modules of SAP preferred).

Experience with payroll applications and service providers is preferred.

Experience with Microsoft tools and applications is required.
