Position Summary:

The Lottery Market Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of assigned Territory Managers engaged in recruiting new lottery retailers, merchandising lottery tickets, implementing specific sales strategies, generating sales through store level promotions and training retailers. This position is responsible for analyzing sensitive sales information for all lottery retailers and utilizing this information to develop strategies to increase store level sales. The Lottery Market Supervisor also plays a critical role in the development of sales revenue flow by identifying, recruiting and developing new retailers. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing strategies to identify appropriate retailer recruitment initiatives and presentations. Responsible for developing opportunities for lottery ticket sales in a wide variety of retail environments. Retail locations include, but are not limited to franchised, cooperative-operated and group owned retailer outlets - predominately independents.

The individual in this position is responsible for recruiting to fill Territory Manager vacancies and is involved in the hiring process for such individuals. Lottery Market Supervisors review resumes, conduct interviews and make recommendations for hiring candidates to fill vacancies. As positions are filled, the Lottery Market Supervisor is responsible for implementing effective training for the Territory Managers.

The Lottery Market Supervisor works under general supervision of the Sales Manager with decision-making independence for the use of initiative and independent judgment to develop and implement work techniques and procedures necessary to accomplish program goals.

The Lottery Market Supervisor may be involved with departmental and agency initiatives to include active participation in committees, planning and strategy meetings. In addition, the individual working in this position may have direct or indirect responsibilities for the retailer newsletter and educational fliers. They may also represent the Lottery at approved events.

The Lottery Market Supervisor may have responsibility for one or more corporate accounts. This includes conducting B2B presentations at Retailer corporate headquarters to develop successful sales strategies for execution at multiple store locations across the State. Will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with corporate contacts, Lottery personnel, and Lottery vendors. These activities routinely involve traveling to Corporate Account offices to gain approval on sales initiatives and advising clients on ways to improve sales and profits.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

•Ensures acceptable levels of service and excellence in service is delivered to retail partners.

•For development of strategies to increase store level sales, the Supervisor analyzes sensitive sales information compiled for all lottery retailers. Using sales information, identify opportunities to increase sales at store level and implement strategies to increase sales at store level.

•Routinely visits retail locations to observe merchandising and point of sale execution at store level. Conducts one-on-one and team training with Territory Managers to ensure excellence in execution at store level.

•Utilizing sensitive sales information, assists in the preparation of sales programs for retailers and Territory Managers designed to increase sales. Assist in development and execution of sales driving events to increase sales at retail locations.

•Independently creates and provides sales and marketing information updates on performance of Corporate Accounts through a variety of venues to monitor account progress. Ensures feedback from corporate customers is reported back to Lottery management and Lottery vendors in the implementation of programs, the introduction of products and the development of promotions at the corporate accounts.

•Resolves complicated retailer and player issues. Assists in screening, interviewing, hiring, and training Territory Managers.

•Other duties as assigned.

Supervises Territory Managers engaging in recruitment of new lottery retailers, merchandising lottery tickets, implementing specific sales strategies, generating sales through store level promotions and training retailers.

Qualifications:

Education Required:

Bachelor's degree in business management or related area.

License/Certification Required:

This position does require a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.

Experience Required:

Previous retail sales and supervisory experience.

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods of concentration in front of a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Environment:

This position is primarily in an office environment. In the manufacturing facility, there may be exposure to the following:

•Some solvent smell, dust, and dirt (solvents used are non-toxic and environmentally friendly)

• Moderate contact with grease

• Loud noises (hearing protection is provided)

Work Schedule: Irregular hours and extra hours are regularly required based on the demands of the job. Position is overtime ineligible.
