POSITION: Maintenance Worker I (Building Maintenance)

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Perform general maintenance, repairs and modifications to Campus buildings and grounds. Perform a variety of repairs to include, but not limited to: minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and mechanical work. Assist with remodeling of offices and buildings located on campus. Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance of interior and exterior of Campus buildings. Some grounds work as needed. Other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. This position is subject to random drug testing as set forth in the College's Policies and Procedures Manual.

MINIMUMM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent. Six months skilled labor or building maintenance experience. Basic communication and interpersonal skills. Heavy lifting and heavy carrying required. Ability to reach above shoulders. Periods of time spent walking, standing, stooping, bending, and kneeling. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate various tools and equipment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Some college and/or vocational training. One year maintenance experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs. Practical knowledge of several maintenance trades with special emphasis on building maintenance.
