BWX Technologies, Inc. is looking for a User Experience (UX) Specialist for its Lynchburg, VA location or remote!

The User Interface Analyst will be responsible for the end-to-end process of transforming complex product requirements into visually stunning and highly functional user interfaces. As a member of the IT staff, the User Experience (UX) Specialist will collaborate to continuously improve the quality and innovation of the user interface for products and enterprise systems as well as working with the Sr. IT management to create professional presentations.

Responsibilities:

Create presentation material for the CDO & staff from concepts and meeting details

Create superior user experiences through the design of elegant interfaces and documents

Collaborate with Business Analysts to create sketches, wireframes, Photoshop mockups, or interactive prototypes to support early concepts and ideas

Design high-level flow diagrams and GUI form charts for use in GUI specifications

Design clean, usable workflows for complex processes

Design Web application user interfaces that are on-brand, visually attractive, and cohesive.

Create production-quality visual assets and icons for the development teams

Present, defend, and revise your design ideas through design reviews and subsequent iterations

Help define and implement interface usability and consistency standards

Provide design guidance for creative deliverables across the organization

Act as user experience proponent and evangelist

Guide team members regarding user experience vision, concepts, and practices.

Develop requirements for the delivery of content strategy and user experience

Provide user experience solution advice and planning at all levels as required

Present and conduct reviews of user interface designs with project managers, stakeholders, and other involved parties

Create presentation material for the CDO & staff from concepts and meeting details

Develop content/graphics for cybersecurity metrics

Create succinct and clear written communications suitable for executives as well as end users

Create graphically pleasing and straightforward PowerPoint slides, Visio Diagrams and other presentation materials

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer/graphic design, system analysis or a related field, or equivalent experience

Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on design and implementation of user interfaces

Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual-citizenship.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance, if required.

Benefits:

The User Experience (UX) Specialist will work a 9/80 work week while receiving market leading pay, paid time off, paid winter holiday shutdown, educational refund plan, medical, dental, vision and service-based retirement contributions with additional 401k match.

Pay: $62,000 - $97,000

The base salary range for this position in Virginia at the start of employment is expected to be between $62,000 and $97,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
